Gas Leak Detection

Gas leaks are dangerous and if you smell gas in your home or business, shut off the gas main immediately, call your gas company, and then call CPR Plumbing Services for help! After you shut off the gas, don’t light any cigarettes, turn on the stove, or even flip on a light switch. The best thing to do is to open all of the doors and windows to air out the house and then wait outside for one of our professionals to arrive.

Gas leaks occur when the pipe is not installed properly or the pipe thread sealant breaks down over time from expansion and contraction of the pipe. Natural gas is naturally odor less. A distinct scent has been added to the gas to let you know when there is a leak. The smell is similar to that of rotten eggs. It will alert you to take precautions and never hesitate to call CPR Plumbing Services if you suspect a gas leak.

Hydro Jetting

Hydro Jetting is the cleaning out of drains and pipes with a high-pressure stream of water. Hydro Jetting is commonly used on septic field pipes and can be an efficient and comparably low cost method to keeping these pipes unobstructed by foreign matter. It’s also much less expensive than replacing your troubled pipes or septic system. All lines that carry water and especially sewage should be free from any clogging influence to allow the free flow of substance to reach its destination.

Over years of continuous use, drains of all types will start to have build up in them. Whether they are kitchen drains, shower and bathroom drains, laboratory drains, they will get a clog from the buildup of oil, fats in food, soap, and other things that have been put down the drain. When a rooter service doesn’t work, we can scour jet the line to make it new again. A Jetter machine uses high pressure to clean the lines out and remove the entire gunk out of your line. This is the best thing to do after a line is cleared by a rooter machine.

Rooter Camera Services

CPR Plumbing Services offers Rooter and Camera Inspection services. Camera Inspection is crucial when roots are suspected. The advent of micro cameras has enabled our CPR licensed professionals to look into pipes and drains as if they were walking through them on a visual inspection tour. This technology allows us in to see exactly what is stopping the flow in a water pipe. That, in turn, allows us to know exactly where the trouble spot is and what tools we need to repair the problem.

Pipes can and do get clogged with all sorts of things. As we all know, they can get overgrown with tree roots and stopped up with grease, food, waste, and any number of unimaginable things. In a sense, pipes are sitting under your driveway and house just waiting for roots to grow through them or waiting to be broken apart by shifting ground or floods. Whatever the reason for stoppage, our state of the art camera inspection systems can find out what resolution is needed. Once that is done, we will show you the problem on our video monitor and then we’ll give you an honest and appropriate estimate.

Shower Pan Replacement

The modern shower pan prevents water from the shower from leaking into the floors and the adjacent walls. It serves a very useful purpose in today’s home. When the shower pan fails the homeowner will pay a pretty penny tearing out the water soaked floor and replacing that and the moldy disintegrating walls around it. With that in mind, it becomes quite important to regularly check the strength and integrity of your shower water pan.

When the shower water pan leaks, even a few drops, it is time to replace it. Repairing the water pan is only a temporary fix and is only delaying the inevitable. Once it starts to leak and break down, sealants and other band-aid type patches will only last a few days, if that. Time to replace the whole pan. Once you do that you can stop worrying about your house falling down from dry rot. This is where CPR Plumbing Services can help. One of our CPR licensed Plumbers will diagnose the problem and provide you with a solution. Remember, shower pans are considered plumbing and you should always hire a licensed plumber.

Slab Leak Detection

What are slab leaks? Generally, a slab leak is simply when a water pipe or water line has sprung a leak under a concrete slab. It can be a pinhole leak, losing just a small amount of fluid or it can be a gusher, which means a lot of water is pouring out of the pipe under the slab. Homeowners usually get a hint of a slab leak when their water bill is higher than normal or when they hear water running when all the faucets and appliances that use water are turned off. Also, hot spots felt through the floor can be a real sign that hot water is leaking under that particular part of the floor or slab.

One of the common causes of slab leaks is the type of soil the pipe and concrete slab was laid in. Depending on location, some soils have ingredients that cause electrolysis. This is a chemical reaction of the copper piping with certain materials in the earth. This electrolysis eventually disintegrates the metal pipe and a leak springs forth.

Tankless Water Heaters

Water Heaters, also called Instantaneous or Demand Water Heaters, provide hot water only as it is needed. Traditional storage water heaters produce standby energy losses that cost you money. We do not leave our homes heated while vacationing. We only heat our homes when there is a demand for heat. In the same way, a Tankless Water Heater is used only when there is a demand for hot water.

Tankless water heaters provide hot water on demand, that is, the hot water flows from the faucet almost immediately when you turn it on an unending supply of hot water is at your command. These instant water heaters are also known as ‘on demand’ water heaters. Because of their quick results and because they produce hot water only when requested as opposed to having to constantly heat and store the water in a conventional storage tank water heater, which heats the water twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.

Toilet Leak Repair

The word ‘toilet’ can mean a fixture for disposing of certain matter or the actual room that contains it. The toilet as fixture came into popular use in the nineteenth century but the flush toilet was designed in the late sixteenth century in England. In the late nineteenth and very early twentieth centuries, the flush toilet had widespread usage among the upper classes in Great Britain.

Toilets are for the most part pretty simple. Whatever goes into the bowl of the toilet is washed down the pipes with water and then streamed away ending up in a sewage treatment plant. Toilets are so important in our everyday lives that when yours doesn’t work it can stop everything in its tracks. If you only have one bathroom for several people or even if you have several bathrooms and one of them doesn’t work, the household schedule can get out of sorts pretty quickly.

Water Heater Diagnostics & Installation

Hot water in the home, or ‘indoors’ as people used to call it, is a luxury that we all take for granted nowadays. A hundred years ago most people had to cut wood, make a fire and heat buckets of water to take a hot bath. Now, of course, we just turn on the tap and water magically comes out of the showerhead or any other faucet at the temperature of our choosing. Hot water tanks have been in use for many, many decades and they can be powered by gas or electricity or oil or solar. We use them for everything from laundry, showers, cooking, and washing dishes on a daily basis.

Tank style water heaters usually last about eight to ten years. Depending on the mineral content of the local water supply and tank style, water heaters generally operate at about 70% efficiency rating. Some things to inspect regularly and look into thoroughly with tank style water heaters are leaks, poor insulation, mineral build up (from the local water), and clanging and hissing noises, which should be recognized as a possible early warning sign that something is going wrong with the unit.

Water Line Leaks

Water line leaks can ruin your day. With CPR Plumbing Services expertise in repairing and replacing water lines, you can have a great day instead of a ruined one. CPR Plumbing Services can locate and pinpoint exactly where your leak is in the yard. Once we find the leak, we will give you an estimate on what it will cost. Also CPR Plumbing Services will be able to tell you if replacement is a better option. It all depends on the material that was used when the house was built. Copper and Pex water lines are very durable; Quest and black poly water lines are not.

There are many reasons why water lines fail and then leak. Age and type of pipes initially installed can contribute to failure. So is the type of soil the pipes were planted in. Certain soils in different regions contain more acid than other soils and can corrode some water lines. Pipes can come apart at the joints when the earth shifts or in an earthquake. Roots from trees can strangle and sometimes break apart underground water line pipes. There are numerous reasons for failing and leaky pipes but the important thing to do when you notice that your water bill is higher than usual or parts of your lawn or inside floors are damp when they shouldn’t be is to call CPR Plumbing Services. We can eliminate the problem quickly and not only save you money on your water bill but also prevent sky-high costs when your floors and furniture have to be replaced.
